It's been a while...

I haven't done a great job keeping up with this blog, but I am trying. :-)
We had a busy birthday week. Alex, Andrew & I all have birthdays with-in 10 days of each other. So needless to say we did a birthday theme. Here is a picture of Alex working on our birthday book.

In our birthday book Alex drew a picture of every member of our immediate family. (And as you can imagine, we were all playing the drums! LOL) Then on the next sheet we had a print out of a cake. He put the persons name and their birthday on it.

And while Alex was busy with birthday week Maddox was playing with his Wiggles sticker book!

Puppets!

Wal-Mart now has crafts by Martha Stewart. I found these adorable little bag puppets there. They are great! The bags aren't paper, but fabric. That means even Maddox can play. All of the parts have "stickers" so no messy glue.

Learning "A"

Here is Maddox coloring his A picture. I will have to post a picture of his poster later. We are doing the "Letter of the Week" curriculum with him.

Learning to read and camping!

Alex has been working SO hard learning how to read. We got the yellow level Hooked on Phonics kit off of EBay. (Got to love EBay!) So far he has read the first 3 stories in it. He already knew all of his letter sounds thanks to a Leapfrog movie his Great Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jen got him.

Here is Alex teaching Maddox the sounds of the letters!

Then Alex wanted to go camping! So we made this homemade camping tent in the computer room. He loved it! I need to get him a real tent so we can have a camp out in the back yard some day soon.

Notice the drums? They go everywhere Alex goes. LOL

Welcome

This blog will keep up with the homeschool activities that my children and I do together. Even though they are just now finishing up this school year I am already looking forward to next year. We are setting up a new school room in our basement. (Thankfully the room is finished and we have a bathroom there as well. LOL)

My youngest 2 children (Alex, 4, and Maddox, 20 months) will be my primary students. My older children (Andrew, 12, and Austin, 10) will still be attending public school. Well we *think* they will be. There is always a possibility that something might change!

Comeback for updates and pictures!
